Using Zoom with Selah Space

Selah Space connects a pastor's own Zoom account so each booked conversation has a private Zoom meeting. This guide explains how to add the Zoom integration, how it works, and how to remove it. Members do not connect Zoom; they join the meeting their pastor hosts.

Before you start

  • A Selah Space pastor account. Sign in or create one at tryselahspace.com/for-pastors.
  • A Zoom account that can host scheduled meetings.
  • Your pastor profile is reviewed before it appears to members. Members can book once your profile is approved and your Zoom and payout connections are complete.

Add Zoom to Selah Space

  • Sign in to your Selah Space pastor account and open Pastor studio.
  • Under Your connections, select Connect Zoom.
  • Zoom opens and asks you to sign in and approve Selah Space. Review the requested permissions and select Allow.
  • Zoom returns you to Pastor studio, which shows Account connected.

Selah Space requests these Zoom permissions: create, view, update, and delete your meetings (meeting:write:meeting, meeting:read:meeting, meeting:update:meeting, meeting:delete:meeting), and read your basic Zoom user profile (user:read:user). Selah Space uses your profile only for your Zoom user ID, so it can honor your request if you remove the app from Zoom.

If you choose Cancel on the Zoom screen, nothing is connected and you return to Pastor studio.

How Selah Space uses Zoom

  • Booking. When a member books a session with you, Selah Space creates a scheduled meeting in your Zoom account for that time.
  • Rescheduling. When a session moves, Selah Space updates the time on the same Zoom meeting.
  • Cancelling. When a session is cancelled, Selah Space deletes that Zoom meeting.
  • Joining. The Join button opens 10 minutes before the appointment. Members receive the participant link. Pastors receive a host link that Selah Space requests from Zoom at that moment and does not store.

Every meeting is created with a passcode and a waiting room. Participants cannot join before the host, and automatic recording is turned off. Booking notes, messages, and private pastor notes are never sent to Zoom. The meeting title is "Selah Space — Private conversation".

Session lengths are appointment blocks. Zoom does not end the call automatically when the appointment time is over.

Remove Zoom from Selah Space

You can remove the integration in either of two ways.

From Selah Space. Open Pastor studio, select Disconnect Zoom, then select Confirm disconnect. Selah Space asks Zoom to revoke its access and deletes your stored Zoom credentials.

From Zoom. Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace, open Manage, then Added Apps, and select Remove next to Selah Space. Zoom notifies Selah Space, and Selah Space deletes your stored Zoom credentials and Zoom user ID automatically.

After you remove the integration:

  • Selah Space deletes your encrypted Zoom access and refresh tokens, your Zoom user ID, and any unfinished connection requests.
  • Selah Space removes stored participant links for sessions that have already taken place.
  • Meetings already on your Zoom calendar stay there, so members can still join upcoming sessions with their existing link. Delete a meeting in Zoom if you no longer plan to hold it.
  • Members cannot book new sessions with you until you reconnect Zoom.
  • If a session is cancelled while Zoom is disconnected, Selah Space cannot delete that meeting from your Zoom calendar. Delete it in Zoom yourself.
  • Your Selah Space account, profile, and booking history remain. To close your account or request deletion of your data, see the Privacy Policy or write to support@workbird.co.

You can reconnect at any time by selecting Connect Zoom again.

Information Selah Space stores from Zoom

  • Your Zoom access and refresh tokens, encrypted with AES-256-GCM and used only by Selah Space's servers to manage your Selah Space meetings.
  • Your Zoom user ID, used to match a removal request from Zoom to your account.
  • For each booking, the Zoom meeting ID and the participant join link.

Selah Space does not store host links, recordings, meeting content, chat, or attendance data from Zoom. See the Privacy Policy for how Workbird LLC handles personal information.

Troubleshooting

  • "Authorization expired. Please connect Zoom again." The connection request is valid for 10 minutes. Select Connect Zoom again.
  • "The pastor's Zoom connection expired." Zoom access was revoked or has changed. Select Connect Zoom in Pastor studio to reconnect.
  • The Join button is unavailable. It opens 10 minutes before the appointment and closes 15 minutes after the scheduled end.
